The First Chronicle

The Introductions: First things first, this is definitely different from what Danielle and I usually do, but we would like to take a little time to introduce you to both ‘us’ and ‘our blog.’ We would like to first start by saying thank you to all that visit our blog, even if it is just by happenstance. There are a few reasons for beginning this blog, but we will try not to bore you with all that just yet. My name is Kenny and my wife is Danielle. We married on October 9, 2010 in Jenks, Oklahoma; however, we initially met in our hometown of Tahlequah, Oklahoma. We now currently reside in OKC. Our journey, like many others, few words can describe. One of our thoughts for beginning this blog was that we may be able to convey our portrayal of hope to not only our family and friends, but to anyone else just stopping by. We would also like to use this blog to update those that know, or come to know, about my health. I was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma in November of 2003. Although the disease has gone into remission in the past, we are currently battling the disease.

Through our blog, we welcome any and all questions. We will do our best to answer honestly and truthfully. We want everyone who visits to understand that the answers we convey come from OUR PERSPECTIVE. These posts will be raw, open, truthful, and at times, upsetting.  We hope that you read our posts with open minds and hearts. Some of the topics may be controversial, but our hope is they will be eye-opening, informative, enlightening, and empowering. There may be times we give a collective answer and other times where we chime in with an answer that is strictly from either Danielle’s or my perspective. This is a challenge that we hope will strengthen our marriage, giving us an opportunity to talk to others openly and honestly about the good, bad, and ugly of dealing with some of the issues that we are posed with.

To wrap-up the first blog post, we would like to once again thank you for taking the time to stop by and check out the blog. If you choose to follow, please don’t be a stranger. It will be near impossible to say thank you to all of those who have supported our portrayal of hope and even know who all we have reached. But with this blog, we are able to say thank you and hope that our story may spark something in you to tell your story. We are all different, but that’s what makes life interesting. Much love, K & D
